Frequently asked questions Hide FAQs
Is the Honda Andes V3 Drystar® Jacket waterproof, and is the waterproof liner removable?

Yes. The Honda Andes V3 Drystar® Jacket uses a fixed, waterproof and breathable Drystar® membrane rated to 5,000 mm. The waterproof membrane is not removable; it is separate from the detachable thermal liner.

The reinforced polyfabric shell includes polymer-printed reinforcement at the elbows and lower arms. Waterproof front cargo pockets and a waterproof wallet pocket provide protected storage.

How does the Honda Andes V3 Drystar® Jacket adapt to hot and cold weather?

For warmer rides, the Direct Ventilation System combines zippered chest air intakes with back exhaust ports to increase airflow. The long-sleeve thermal liner can be removed, while the fixed Drystar® membrane remains in place.

For cooler conditions, the thermal liner provides 100 g insulation in the body and 80 g in the sleeves. This combination of adjustable ventilation and removable insulation supports touring through changing temperatures.

How should I choose my size for the Honda Andes V3 Drystar® Jacket in Black?

The Black variant is offered in men's sizes S–4XL and has a regular cut. A hook-and-loop waist belt and inner-hem shock cord refine the fit, while pre-contoured sleeves and accordion stretch panels at the elbows support movement in the riding position.

Compare your measurements with the Alpinestars size guide and check the fit with your intended riding layers. The shoulder and elbow protectors should remain correctly positioned without restricting movement. If using Tech-Air®, also follow the selected system's deployment-clearance instructions.

What CE rating does the Honda Andes V3 Drystar® Jacket have, and is a back protector included?

The jacket is listed as a CE Category II, Class A riding garment under the prEN 17092 draft standard. It includes removable Nucleon Flex Plus shoulder and elbow protectors certified to EN 1621-1:2012, CE Level 1. The garment's Class A classification is distinct from the impact protectors' CE level.

A back protector is not included. Chest and back compartments accommodate optional Nucleon inserts, with a CE Level 2 Nucleon back protector certified to EN 1621-2:2014 listed as an accessory upgrade.

Which Tech-Air® airbag systems are compatible with the Honda Andes V3 Drystar® Jacket?

The Honda Andes V3 Drystar® Jacket is listed as compatible with the Tech-Air® Off-Road System, Tech-Air® 5 Plasma System, Tech-Air® 5 System and Tech-Air® 3 V2 System. Tech-Air® Ready indicates compatibility; an airbag system is not included with the jacket.

Follow the selected system's compatibility, sizing and fitting instructions to maintain the required deployment space when choosing your jacket size and adjusting its fit.
